Experience

I began my teaching career at Head Start in Knox County in August of 1990- December of 1991.  I taught Kindergarten at Sam E. Hill from December of 1991- May of 1993, Preschool at Fair Garden Center from August of 1993- May 2003, Kindergarten at Inskip Elementary August 2003- May 2005. I came to Rush Strong August 2005 and taught Kindergarten for 5 years.  I am now going into my 8th year teaching first grade. For the 2014-15 school I was voted Elementary Teacher of the Year for Rush Strong.  That was a huge honor for me.

Bio

I currently live in Knoxville, not far from Harvest Park.  I am married to Jonathan Wayne Hoover and have 2 children. My daughter, Katelynn, is in college studying to be a Nurse. Jacob is 15 years old, an honor student in the 10th grade. He is very interested in technology, and works on leadership committees at his high school in Knoxville.  We also have a Dachshund named Jango, and Alice the Hedgehog.  Alice visits the classroom with my daughter.  The children love to see Alice.  I am a proud Mom who loves her family very much!

My passion is teaching young children.  I love how excited they are to learn new things.  I am looking forward to an exciting year at Rush Strong with my students! :-)
