Parent Involvement Plan
Rush Strong School faculty and staff recognize that families and
community members are an integral part of our school. Parents,
family members, and community members are welcome in our school and
are encouraged to get involved in school activities and participate
in the education of our students.
Parents are kept informed of student progress with four report
cards and four progress reports throughout the year. They are also
given opportunities to meet with teachers at Parent/Teacher
conferences in the fall and spring. In addition, parents are
welcome to arrange further meetings with faculty throughout the
year. Student progress, proficiency levels, and benchmarks at each
grade level will be explained by teachers during conferences.
Parents are invited to attend Meet the Open House scheduled mid
August, to visit classrooms and meet with administration.
Additionally, booths were set up to promote several programs the
school offers as well community programs to educate parents and
students as to what is available in our community.
This year, Rush Strong School has partnered with churches in our
community to provide smart snacks to our students. Healthy snacks
are provided midmorning so students won't get as hungry until lunch
and can concentrate on learning.
PTO meetings will be held regularly and publicized in the monthly
newsletter and online on our school website. Parents are encouraged
to ask questions and present ideas or suggestions at these
meetings. Parents and community members will be invited to
participate in PTO sponsored events, such as Fall Festival,
Christmas in Jefferson County, Box Tops for Education, Open House
among other events.
Parents of pre-kindergarten students are invited to attend monthly
